Pink Floyd Career Highlights

• A "classic rock" band formed in 1965
• Released debut album in 1967 entitled The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
• David Gilmour replaced original vocalist Syd Barrett in 1968
• Released Dark Side of The Moon in 1973, which became one of the best selling albums of all time.
• In 1979, the band released the album The Wall, which was the soundtrack to a highly successful rock opera of the same name in 1982
• Due to tensions with Gilmour, Waters left the band in 1985

• Pink Floyd resumed recording in 1987 without Waters and released A Momentary Lapse of Reason
• They released their last studio album, The Division Bell in 1994. They then toured together for the following decade and released a number of live albums.
• In 2005 Waters reunited with the band for a one time show for Live 8.  Any rumors of further reunited appearances have been quashed by both Waters and Pink Floyd.
