Pink Floyd legends Roger Waters and Dave Gilmour reunite in front of 14,000 delirious fans at O2 Arena

It was the moment their fans had longed for... though were scared to believe would actually happen.

Last night legends Roger Waters and Dave Gilmour were reunited.
The pair were reconciled on stage at the O2 Arena venue in Greenwich, London.
In front of 14,000 delirious fans Gilmour joined his former bandmate on stage.

It was the first time they had performed together in more than 20 years, bar Live 8 in July 2005 and one low-key charity event in Oxfordshire last summer when the plan was hatched.
Waters is on a 94-date world tour, performing - as a 30th anniversary celebration - the whole of The Wall, the band's legendary album.
Ironically, it was also the album that caused the final fracturing of their relationship for more than 20 years.
However, when Waters revealed he would be touring The Wall - which began  in North America last summer - Gilmour promised to join his former bandmate at one unspecified date.
That evening duly arrived last night.

The enormous and elaborate set - featuring a vast 200 foot by 50 foot wall - had already given a visual extavaganza to the delirious fans.
But than it came to the totemic Comfortably Numb.
Suddenly, Walters - at the bottom of the 50ft wall - pointed upwards and Gilmour appeared seemingly out of nowhere on top.
As the crowd roqred with delight, the pair put aside a generation of antipathy.
In extraordinary scenes, some  devotees were crying.
Others, so overcome at the reconciliation, were having to hold each other up for support.
No words were spoken between Waters and Gilmour  at that juncture.
Instead they let their music do the talking.

However, at the finale, Waters spoke of his gratitude towards his old friend for reuniting with him.
He said: 'Now we know! Tonight was the night when David gave me the enormous honour of coming to play Comfortably Numb. So please welcome David Gilmour.'
To the crowd's joy, the pair then embraced.
Waters then announced that 'by extraordinary coincidence there is another member of our old band here tonight, Nick Mason,' before Mason then joined them onstage.
With Gilmour on mandolin, Waters on trumpet and Mason on tambourine, the trio - along with the backing band -  played an unplugged version of Outside The. Wall.
Waters then gave - perhaps - his most revealing assessment of their now notorious fall-out.
Waters admitted: 'When we first played this more than 30 years ago I was a grumpy fellow disaffected with rock and playing live - as David will attest - but all that has changed. So thank you very much.'
