The underwear model helping Ben Goldsmith bounce back

Some might wonder what Jemima Jones sees in recently separated father-of-three Ben Goldsmith — but it’s not difficult to see what he sees in her.
For I can reveal, contrary to reports, sultry Jemima is not a PR girl, but a budding film producer and top model with the Select agency. And here she is posing for a Cosmopolitan lingerie photoshoot.
Two nights ago, the couple made their public debut at Sake No Hana restaurant in St James’s where Goldsmith, 31, was supporting his friend

Tracy (the Marchioness of) Worcester’s ‘food from farms, not factories’ campaign.
Ben told me the occasion meant a lot to him because Jemima, 25, was his first girlfriend since his acrimonious split from heiress wife Kate Rothschild in June.
‘This is a big night for us as a couple as there is family, friends and lots of attention,’ he says. ‘But yes, I am in love!’
Jemima is the daughter of architect Edward Jones, 73, whose firm Dixon Jones was instrumental in redeveloping the Royal Opera House.
Jemima was born in Canada — her architect mother Margot is Canadian — and came to England when she was two. Educated at Oxford Brookes University, she is the sister of film-maker Quentin Jones.
‘I’m a producer, not a PR girl,’ Jemima tells me. ‘I produce fashion campaigns and art and commerce films.’

But closer to home, Michel Roux is embroiled in a simmering row with a neighbour of his fancy riverside establishment at Bray in Berkshire.

Widow Brenda Bedborough, whose front door is close to the car park at the Waterside Inn — where Prince Philip celebrated his 90th birthday last year — complains that her quality of life has been ruined by continuous noise from vehicles and  rubbish collections.
‘Five days a week I’m woken up at 7.15a.m. by six wheelie bins of rubbish being collected in loud vans and every Tuesday I am tormented by the sounds of crashing glass as the recycling men empty the 12 wheelie bins full of bottles.
There is also a dreadful odour,’ says Mrs Bedborough, 77, whose husband John died six years ago and who herself suffers from a heart condition.
‘I am convinced my health has suffered as a result of all this. I have tried pleading with Michel to change the times his men collect the rubbish and to lessen the constant racket, but he is so rude.
He has no consideration for others.’
Two years ago, Roux, 71, who these days mostly lives in Switzerland, was advised by council environmental officers to use new padded bins for his glass bottles and to limit late-night activities by staff in the restaurant and car park.
However, Mrs Bedborough claims these changes have not been implemented.
She says: ‘All this has made no difference, my life is still unbearable, but I can’t afford to take him to court. I pray for the day my peace will be restored. It used to be such a tranquil place.’
An aide to twice-married Roux said he was aware of the issue, but declined to comment.
Windsor and Maidenhead council confirmed it was investigating an allegation from a resident regarding noise nuisance from the Waterside Inn.

Theirs was one of showbusiness’s more turbulent marriages, but it was often said that Peter O’Toole never got over his divorce from Sian Phillips more than 30 years ago. Intriguingly, it has emerged that Ms Phillips, 79, has only just closed the book on that chapter of her life.
For I hear the Welsh-born actress has disposed of a collection of books and plays she amassed during her 20-year marriage to the once-wild O’Toole. Ms Phillips passed several boxes full of collectibles to Stephen Foster, the Marylebone bookshop that specialises in rare and out-of-print literature. ‘Many of the books she has given away are from the Sixties, when she was married to O’Toole,’ I am told. ‘She travelled the world with him while he was shooting films and she probably started collected them then.
‘There are a lot of theatrical-related assortments — stage plays, obscure scripts and paperbacks which are all in good condition.
‘Quite simply, Sian was having an autumn clean of her home and the books were rather cluttering the place up so she wanted them out. Rather like O’Toole, they had to go.’

Her luxuriant locks are envied around the world, but one crimper dying to chop off the former Kate Middleton’s mane is stylist to the stars Tara Smith.
As the woman who has primped a host of Hollywood stars, including Demi Moore and Anna Friel, Tara, who has just launched a vegan haircare range, tells me at Sketch nightclub:
‘I would like to cut it all off! I would love to see the Duchess with something short and spunky, but because of her position I don’t think she could ever get away with it. Her hair has to be safe.’

Felicity Blunt and Stanley Tucci are understood to have secretly married over the summer in the U.S
Felicity Blunt and Stanley Tucci are understood to have secretly married over the summer in the U.S
Figures from Hollywood, the literary scene and political and legal circles gather in London this weekend for a two-night party to celebrate the marriage of Felicity Blunt, elder sister of actress Emily, to American actor Stanley Tucci.
The couple are understood to have wed quietly this summer in the U.S. but are having a ‘sequel ceremony’ for friends and relatives.
I gather proceedings kick off with a cocktail party tonight at Shoreditch House followed by an exchange of vows at Middle Temple tomorrow and a reception.
Blunt’s family — including her father Oliver Blunt QC, uncle Crispin Blunt, the Tory MP, and Emily will rub shoulders with those who have appeared alongside Tucci in his many films.
His former co-star Meryl Streep is expected to attend.  It was while working with Streep and Emily on the 2006 hit The Devil Wears Prada that Tucci, a widower of 51 with three children, met Felicity, 31.
At the time she was a literary agent working at Curtis Brown in London. She relocated to New York to live with the actor last year.

Anything-but-reclusive showbiz agent Jonathan Shalit was taken aback to find himself checked in to Howard Hughes’s former retreat of Bungalow 4 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

It was where Hughes insisted on having roast beef sandwiches left in the branches of a tree outside so that staff never saw him.

Shalit, in Hollywood with wife Katrina for the three-day wedding of property developer Nick Candy and actress Holly Valance, along with guests including Sir Elton John and David Furnish, shares none of the tycoon’s penchant for hiding away.

But he asked if his breakfast could be served in the same tree.

‘The waiter said they had never done it since Hughes, who spent up to $11 million a year at the hotel — 50 years ago,’ says a disappointed Shalit.

PS There was laughter and tears at St Paul’s, Knightsbridge, yesterday as Downton Abbey creater Julian Fellowes spoke at a packed service to celebrate the life of actress Angharad Rees, who died of cancer in July.
Lord Fellowes recalled how she related her difficulties with first husband Christopher Cazenove, telling him: ‘What does one do to cope with a husband who goes out to buy a newspaper and comes back with an Aston Martin?’
The couple divorced and Angharad went on to marry David McAlpine of the construction family.
