Martin Scorsese wants to make his next film in 3D too
Not content with wowing the crowds in 2011, Martin Scorsese has plans to make his next two projects in 3D also...
Despite small triumphs of the 3D format in films like Avatar and Hugo,
for the most part the technology is still despised by the vast majority
of movie fans. So, it might come as a surprise that revered director
Martin Scorsese liked using it so much for Hugo, he's thinking about using it on his next two projects.
His next film will be Silence, a passion project adapted from Shusaku Endo's 17th century religious drama, and it's now been revealed that the film may come with an extra dimension attached. It will reportedly star Daniel Day-Lewis and Benicio Del Toro.
There's also his looming Frank Sinatra project to look forward to, and it looks as if it may mark the auteurs third foray into 3D. That sounds like an intriguing prospect, and Scorsese did prove with Hugo that there may be some life in the technology yet.
