‘Captain America 2′ Director Shortlist Goes For Hungry Directors

图片
Marvel is going forward with sequels to their 2011 Superhero slate, and though it took a while to nail down the Thor 2 director, it finally looks like Game of Thrones‘s Alan Taylor is helming that one. But Captain America 2 has yet to find its director, and today four names were mentioned: George Nolfi, F. Gary Gray, and Anthony and Joseph Russo. Who are they, you ask? F. Gary Gray got his start in music videos, and moved on to Friday, which launched Chris Tucker into stardom. He then moved up and up, helming Set If Off, then The Negotiator, and in 2003 had two films with A Man Apart and The Italian Job. Since then, he’s mostly been in charge of mid-range studio productions like Be Cool, and Law Abiding Citizen. He’s had some hits, but nothing that’s given him much control, and a film like this could put him back in good graces. George Nolfi wrote on Ocean’s Twelve (which pro

Human Centipede’ Creator Announces Lawsuit Against Star Of The Original Film For Not Returning In A Sequel

图片
The AV Club broke the news today like this:  Human Centipede director Tom Six announced on Twitter that he would be suing Dieter Laser (you know, the evil scientist obsesses with mouth to anus surgery in the first film) for agreeing to star in The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence) and then deciding to back out, probably because it was a film called The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence) , and because it we’ll feature 500 people connected ass to mouth. And despite the fact that Six’s producer sister Ilona is calling Laser’s decision a move made out of ego, the actor laid it out today thusly: It’s very simple: I loved the story when it was told, got the contract and the promise to have the script in 4 to 6 weeks. When it arrived — half a year later and only after the official announcement — I didn’t like the realization at all, couldn’t identify with the character the way it was written and developed immediately and enthusiastically in a d

Zombies Invade Brooklyn Heightz... Uh, Heights!!

图片
Filming for a New York Lottery commercial overtook Brooklyn Heights Tuesday March 20, along the neighborhood's main shopping drag of Montague Street. This morning, the action was focused on a vehicle with smashed windshield and a felled lamp-post. Ouch! By mid-afternoon, the storyboard had evolved to a crowd of zombies collected around a newspaper vendor site (with a car now completely overturned), apparently consumed with deadly desire to purchase NYC lottery tix. Meanwhile, a mob of ghoulish extras sat along the corner of Henry Street in front of NY Kids Club—there's something deliciously ironic there—waiting their turn as the action progressed. I can only hope they chewed up a misbehaved precocious child or two. At least a hundred or so locals gathered at the scene to gaze upon the zombie spectacle, where I was, as always, armed with my Nikon D5000. Good one, for sure. *

Okay, so I didn't quite make it through the Season 14 premiere of ABC's Dancing With The Stars

Okay, so I didn't quite make it through the Season 14 premiere of ABC's Dancing With The Stars during its (endless) premiere Monday. I was catching up with my fave new show Good Christian Bitches (GCB) from Sunday, and simply didn't have the mojo to endure two hours of bravado just to witness my William Levy —over the course of one night—become the most talked-about reality contestant in America. And how. Look at the headlines on Google this morning following the show... "Levy Makes Crowd Go Wild," "Levy has hearts aflutter," his "obsessed female fans," "Levy Smoulders" and "Levy incites near-riot." Don't even ask if I'm surprised... Come on, I've been singing the praises of the Spanish-language telenovela star for three years now . But you cool cats already knew that... So now, I'm sitting in front of the tele, a distant cry from live-blogging, but bursting to share my observations of th

Pink Floyd Division Bell (1994) - Top Concert Tour Design of all time

Division Bell made people want to work in the lighting industry. We know a few. Thanks to the massive lighting rig and Hol¬lywood Bowl-inspired stage designed by Marc Brickman and architecturally realized by Mark Fisher, this tour was the largest ever at the time—approximately 700 tons of steel on 33 trucks. Due to the sheer size, three identical stages and rigs were built, leapfrogging from venue to venue, since load-in and setup took three and half days to complete and load-out took another two. Peter Wynne Wilson, who was the band’s lighting designer until 1968, returned to add dramatic liquid projections and effects to the tour. Division Bell is immortalized in the live concert film Pulse , and it’s another Pollstar winner for Most Creative Stage Production.

Pink Floyd are an English rock band that initially earned recognition for their psychedelic rock music

Pink Floyd are an English rock band that initially earned recognition for their psychedelic rock music, and, as they evolved, for their progressive rock music. They are known for philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, innovative cover art, and elaborate live shows . One of rock music's most successful acts, the group have sold over 200 million albums worldwide including 74.5 million albums in the United States alone. Pink Floyd had moderate mainstream success and were one of the most popular bands in the London underground music scene in the late 1960s as a psychedelic band led by Syd Barrett; however, Barrett's erratic behaviour eventually forced his colleagues to replace him with guitarist and singer David Gilmour . After Barrett's departure, singer and bass player Roger Waters gradually became the dominant and driving force in the mid-1970s, until his eventual departure from the group in 1985. The band recorded several albums, achieving worldwide su
