face-to-face with wife Liberty
Ross today, but if the philandering director was hoping for a tearful
reunion... he didn't get it.
Instead, as the mother of his children sped away from the meeting - en route to lunch with a mystery date - Rupert was left standing forlornly on the sidewalk.
An older man - who accompanied the 33-year-old beauty all day, even stood between Ross and Sanders, 41, as she climbed into her waiting car.
Using himself as a blocker as he ushered the mother-of-two into the waiting vehicle, he turned to look at the English director with a look of utter revulsion on his face.
It's believed he works for Miss Ross, and may even be her lawyer.
Sanders, who has admitted to a fling with Kristen Stewart, was left to stare forlornly after the stunning brunette as she climbed into the car.

was standing in front of to order a sandwich to go, because nothing
tastes better than pastrami and regret.
Liberty, who was spotted out in LA yesterday without her wedding ring, was dressed to kill in a stunning black and white skirt suit with sexy sky-scraping heels.
The outfit was put to better use than at the cursory meeting with Rupert when she rocked up at upscale Cecconi's restaurant on Melrose Avenue.
There she dined with a handsome young man wearing a white T-shirt and sporting ruffled raven hair; he could be seen placing his arm protectively around the model as the couple left the eaterie.
The pair didn't mind who saw them as they walked in the sunshine; Liberty's sensationally put together look garnering admiring glances all the while.
Meanwhile Rupert, who probably thought the outfit was for him, was left to shop for a meal for one in Malibu.
The cheating husband cut a tragic figure as he pushed his shopping trolley alone then showed a hint of inner turmoil by dropping his groceries on the floor.
