Pink Floyd Launch First Official Apple App
Monday 14th November sees the launch of Pink Floyd's first
App for Apple devices – This Day In Pink Floyd. Available through
the 120 worldwide iTunes stores for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch,
at £1.99 (UK), $2.99 (USA), and an equivalent local price elsewhere,
the application is designed to provide an involving experience, with
information on the band's activities on every day of the year,
trivia, an interactive quiz and complete song notes for every studio
track released by Pink Floyd – 167 songs in total.
The App also includes much Pink Floyd imagery, expandable to the touch, a free ringtone of 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond', wallpaper of two classic Pink Floyd images and an embedded copy of the newly-restored 'Point Me At The Sky' video from 1968. It has a link to the user's iTunes library directly from each Song Note, so Pink Floyd tracks can be played while reading about the band's entire catalogue, and if the track is not in the user's library, there is link to purchase it from the iTunes Store.
