Wearing thin already? Miley Cyrus hides her radical short cut despite defending the look she 'loves' to Twitter fans
Miley Cyrus may well have hit back at
critics of her bold new hair cut, but tonight she tried to hide the
radical crop as she walked with her fiance Liam Hemsworth in
Philadelphia tonight.
The Pilates fan is in the city while her Australian partner shoots his new film.
Wearing a tight black dress,
sneakers and a green checked shirt, the country music progeny looked
cute and informal but obviously sick of the barnet controversy, she
covered it up.
The former Disney princess, 19, proudly unveiled her blonde shaved undercut on Twitter yesterday.
But the reaction to the crop - which was executed by Hollywood hairdresser Chris McMillan, the creator of Jennifer Aniston's infamous 'Rachel' haircut - was not exactly what she was hoping for.
Rapper Tyler the Creator was among the critics, tweeting, 'Your barber is an a**hole. He later deleted the comment.
She fired back late last night, writing: 'My dad Billy Ray Cyrus used to tell me, "Opinions are are like a**holes - everybody has one." LOVE my hair. Feel so happy, pretty, and free.'
She also wrote: 'if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all.'
Miley initially tweeted a picture of herself at the moment her ballet bun was to be chopped off.
Obviously pleased with the outcome, the Hannah Montana star told her seven million followers: 'Never felt more me in my whole life'.
And the stark difference in styles seemed to have bemused a passer-by who didn't recognise the teenager, with the Nashville-born star adding: 'someone just told me im prettier than Miley Cyrus.'
Continuing on her quest to morph into an emo kid, Miley complemented her hair with a heavy black sweater, silver barbed wire necklace and a pair of chunky boots.
She tweeted: 'most successful Sally day EVER! I feel pretty ohhhh so pretty and gayyyy.. bliss :)'.
It seems Miley has finally settled on a style she likes, changing her locks several times over recent weeks.
The bride-to-be, who got
engaged to
The Hunger Games actor Hemsworth in June, was known for her trademark
brunette hair before she showcased a slick razor cut bob last month.
Despite the change, Miley appeared unhappy with the style, frequently wearing it up in a bun - whether she was out and about or heading to one of her infamous Pilates sessions.
Just last week, she went for the chop again, perhaps preparing for today's huge jump.
The 19-year-old singer landed a supporting role on the CBS sitcom - and her character will be a world away from the role she had in her breakthrough Disney series Hannah Montana.
According to E! News, MIley is set to shake things up romantically when her 'sexy' character - a new girl in town - becomes the object of the male leads' affection.
Both Angus T. Jones' character Jake Harper and Ashton Kutcher's Walden Schmidt will both fall for the starlet in a storyline 'rife with comedy'.
