The star looked a far cry from her role as the destitute Fantine, embracing her innocent side in the wholesome look

She's just won an Oscar for portraying a destitute mother who turns to prostitution in Les Mis.
But Anne Hathaway looked a million miles away from the tragic Fantine as she stepped out in LA on Thursday, dressed head-to-toe in white.
Embracing her softer side, the 30-year-old looked feminine as she hit the shops with a friend in tow, clearly making the most of the bright and sunny day.

The A-lister is set to play the lead in a remake of My Fair Lady, so was perhaps trying her best to capture her inner Audrey Hepburn in the simple but chic ensemble.

She paired white bootleg jeans with a loose-fitting white chiffon blouse, creating something of an angelic look as she breezed around town.
Anne added a pair of casual sandals to the outfit and wore a mustard quilted bag slung over one shoulder, bringing a little colour to the look.

She wore a huge pair of orange-framed glasses which covered her make-up free face and sported a simple silver pendant around her neck.
The day before the Devil Wears Prada actress had jetted into Los Angeles with husband Adam Shulman, looking slightly more grungy in a pair of ripped jeans.
The loved up couple, who seem to have their styles in sync, wore matching sunglasses and long scarves wrapped round their necks.

Although the actress is yet to come out and confirm her role in Cameron Mackintosh's adaption of the classic film, she has hinted that she s attached to the project.
Anne was quoted by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton as saying: 'I haven’t heard for a while what’s happening with My Fair Lady and I don’t know whether I would do it on stage, or screen, but either would be a treat.'
A source recently told Showbiz Spy: 'Cameron feels having Anne on board will help replicate the success of Les Mis. The cockney accent won’t be a problem. She’ll pick it up in no time.'
