After starring in two of last year's biggest movies and cleaning up during awards season, Anne Hathaway has been taking a well-earned break from the spotlight.
But the Oscar-winning actress opted for a somewhat unusual look as she stepped out on a stroll with her beloved pet dog Esmeralda in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday.
In spite of the glorious sunshine, the 30-year-old star covered up from head-to-toe and opted for an almost comically large oversized beanie hat.

Perhaps attempting to go incognito as she enjoyed her weekend wander, the Les Miserables beauty looked worlds away from the red carpet glamour she showcased at this year's hottest awards ceremonies.

Showing off her naturally flawless skin, the Hollywood A-lister went make-up free for the day, while shielding her eyes from the hot California sun with a pair of oversized sunglasses.

She has been taking a break of late after a hectic few months, although has been linked with taking the lead in the remake of musical My Fair Lady.
Although the actress is yet to confirm her role in Cameron Mackintosh's adaption of the classic film, she has hinted that she might be attached to the project.
Anne was quoted by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton as saying: 'I haven’t heard for a while what’s happening with My Fair Lady and I don’t know whether I would do it on stage, or screen, but either would be a treat.'
