The fashionable mother-of-two is in the midst of a whirlwind publicity tour, doing readings and appearing on Good Morning America and MTV's Nikki & Sara LIVE.
Jessica's new book is a comprehensive guide that covers healthy recipes, home decor, beauty, style, parenting, and fun DIY crafts.
'When I was pregnant, I wanted to eliminate any potential health risks, so I was searching for green products at the time, but it was all so confusing,' the mompreneur told Us Weekly.
'I realized that a lot of those products had brown or beige packaging, but in the end, they were really just better for the planet, but not for people.'
Last year, The Valentine's Day star teamed up with entrepreneur Brian Lee and environmental advocate Christopher Gavigan to develop green, non-toxic products for The Honest Company.
The success of her company led to the lifestyle handbook and eventually, Jessica teased, an upcoming makeup line.
Not seen Saturday was her 34-year-old husband Cash Warren and their two daughters - four-year-old Honor Marie and one-year-old Haven Garner.
Jessica revealed that when her daughter Honor wanted rainbow hair recently, she took matters into her own hands.
'She painted her hair at school and I was like, "Did you paint your hair?" And she was like, "No. It's only in one section; it's perfect,"' said Alba.
'She totally painted her hair! And she says, "The teacher told me to stop, so I stopped."'
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Dark Angel actress is in final negotiations to star in Weightless.
The film is an original screenplay from the Oscar nominated writer Milo Addica (Monster's Ball) and it will also be his first time directing.
Set in the near future it tells the story of a 'female astronaut (Alba) who winds up in a complicated love affair with the brother of a woman who died in a motorcycle accident she caused.'
Alba also has two sequels coming out this year - Sin City: A Dame to Kill For on October 2 and Machete Kills on July 31.
