For Bethenny Frankel burning calories is not enough - you have to look good doing it.
The reality star vamped up her workout routine on Wednesday by trading in her trainers for an over-the-top pair of red Manolo Blahniks as she kicked and lunged her way into shape.
The Skinny Girl entrepreneur donned the eye-catching stilettos for a Pumped In Pumps workout class she was teaching in New York City.
The routine was a variation on a growing trend among New York women who prefer to keep slim via controlled choreographed workout moves in their stilettos.
The high-heeled exercise antics are said to strengthen the core and tone leg muscles by constantly challenging one's balance while engaged in a hybrid of aerobics and dance footwork.
But most women wear decidedly less pricey footwear than Bethenny's red hot Manolo Blahniks - which start at $600 and only go up from there.
The sexy exercise attire appeared to conform with her fitness philosophy, which emphasizes having fun above all else.
After her sweaty debut as a fashion savvy fitness trainer, the active mother-of-one told the New York Daily News, 'I love that you felt sexy, I thought it was fun.'
Bethenny went on to offer some
tips to the high-heeled class from her personal experience as both a
businesswoman and the mother of a two-year-old.
'I do not belong to a gym, I want to be with my daughter, I want to be home so I will do a DVD there, anything is better than doing nothing,' she told them.
Dressed in a red Skinny Girl workout top the Real Housewives of New York City star gave her thoughts on dieting fads: 'I think they are all stupid, I think every diet is stupid.
'If you want cake on a Tuesday morning, you should have cake and then have a salad for lunch.'
Continuing her philosophical train of thought Bethenny advised: 'If you really want something, you should have it.
'It's like shopping: If you buy something really expensive, then next time buy nothing or buy something really sensible.'
The successful Bravo star of The Real Housewives of New York and Bethenny Ever After, reflected on how reality television enabled her to grow her brand.
But she wanted to make it clear that she practices what she preaches and that beyond the high heels and the glamour it is about being healthy.
Offering one last thought on making smart diet choices the Bethenny star added: 'Cut out most things that have sodium, do a healthy juice cleanse or even one where you eliminate alcohol and sugar.'
