But the outfit struggled to contain her ample assets - something Sofia seemed only too aware of.
The 39-year-old actress - who appears to have reunited with boyfriend Nick Loeb - was seen tugging at her dress as she arrived at the Four Seasons in New York.
Nick was not spotted with her, although the pair have been spotted going on dates together in recent days following their split last month.
On Friday the actress was spotted in workout gear, before transforming for the evening into a lovely yellow dress.
She headed out with Nick to West Village for dinner - sparking rumours the pair are attempting to rekindles their romance.
Unidentified sources told the New York Post that the couple were seen in a 'heated discussion with lots of hand flailing' last week.
The couple allegedly split after constant fighting and a source close to Loeb also claimed Vergara hated when it when her multi-millionaire partner got more attention than she did.
'They have been fighting a lot recently and have been on the brink of splitting many times.
'It is not yet clear if they are over for good, but they are done as a couple for now,' the source told the New York Post.
