Valentine's Day is fast approaching -
and what better way to celebrate the feelgood vibes of romance than
with a photoshoot that will melt even the hardest of hearts.
A photographer has taken pictures of adorable sleeping babies, some only a week old, dressed in various knitted Valentine’s-themed costumes.
Norfolk-based Shellie Wall, 38, took the pictures as part of her £85 sessions, where she spends up to four hours patiently coaxing the tiny newborns into the perfect shooting position for her clients.
From bouncing two-week-old Harrison
resplendent in a red dickie bow to sleepy Poppy in a woolly heart hat, these British
Valentine babies are guaranteed to make your heart melt.
In order to capture the infants
in such tranquil and endearing poses Ms Wall says they must be no older
than four weeks when she photographs them, but for the best results the
sleepy stars have to be under 12 days old on the day of session.
This is because the deep sleep of the newborn allows Ms Wall to gently position them into the delectable poses with ease, and they are likely to stay still once in them.
Shellie, who began her baby
photography business in 2009, is so inundated with requests,
parents-to-be have to book a slot when they have their 12 week scan.
Ms Wall, who describes herself as a leading specialist in newborn photography, says newborns 'can be the most difficult to photograph'.
And while the famous adage warns 'never work with animals or children', clearly Ms Hall has the magic touch.
She says that she hopes to capture the baby's delicate features, wisps of hair, and their idiosyncrasies.
Ms Wall says on her website: 'These early days should be captured and always remembered.'
