'I think in life we all have a bunch of
different versions of ourselves,' says Taylor in a behind-the-scenes
video made for the campaign.
'And that goes with our personality, how we act around friends, how we act in a job interview ... it's all very different how we act, and I think it's all equally different the way we choose to dress.
'And the cool thing about make-up is that it can be so different on any given day.
As the face of CoverGirl, Taylor joins an elite group of high-profile women representing the top-selling brand, including Christie Brinkley, Cybill Shepherd, Drew Barrymore and Ellen DeGeneres.
'For tour especially this year we put together nine different looks over the course of a two-hour show,' she says, beginning with a natural, fresh-faced look.
'My inspiration for different looks as far as make-up goes comes from things I see ... one of my fans wearing in a meet-and-greet line.'
Taylor wears a beige toga-style dress for her natural-make-up look, her hair styled softly around her face.
For her second 'rocker/rebel' look, she switches up to tight black jeans, a metallic shirt and long necklaces, finishing her look off with glam-rock-style make-up.
'I would describe myself as a rebel in some ways, but not in others,' says Taylor, who wears heavy cat-eye make-up for the look.
'I normally go with a cat-eye [make-up] but this [look] is a lot of shadowing.'
For her third 'boho' look, Taylor wears a white lace body suit and black floppy felt hat.
'You can go to the flea market with your friends wearing this, or you could accessorise it differently and wear it out at night for dinner,' says the country star.
'I really like looks like that where you can pretty much transition into any part of your life,' she says.
For her final and favourite
'glam' look,Taylor wears a black lace dress and dramatic costume-jewel
necklace, her hair styled in huge curls around her face.
'I'm pretty much the most in my element that I've been on the shoot,' she says of her glamorous night-time attire.
'This is the cat-eye eyeliner look ... it's a little more dramatic than I usually do, but this is one of my favourite things to do with make-up ... is to accentuate your eyes with cat-eye eyeliner.
The release of the campaign comes as Taylor was today named by Forbes as the highest paid celebrity under 30.
Taylor beating Justin Bieber for top position, earning an estimated $57 million for the year ending in May.
