Proving they're metal! Julianne Hough dazzles in yellow while Tom Cruise gives devil horn salute at Rock of Ages premiere
It seems Julianne Hough was determined not to be outshone at her latest movie premiere.
For the dancer wore a dazzling yellow dress for the first showing of musical Rock of Ages in Hollywood tonight.
The former Dancing With The Stars favourite looked stunning in the elegant skin tight gown.
And she will be hoping the silver screen
version of the hit Broadway show performs better than those
underwhelming motion pictures.
The multi-talented star, who plays glam metal loving waitress Sherrie Christian in the film, will surely be hoping the stellar cast can help draw in the punters.
And she looked delighted when she caught up with the film's most famous performer Tom Cruise on the red carpet.
The pair held hands and giggled as they basked in the excitement of the $80m picture's premiere.
Tom, who plays aging rock frontman Stacee
Jaxx near the end of the infamous 80s hair metal period, even tried to
win some heavy metal credibility by flashing the devil horn salute to
his adoring fans.
He also decided to dress down for the occasion, wearing a suede jacket, jeans, pullover and walking boots instead of the tried and trusted suited look.
While his back was turned Julianne sauntered off to grab a hold of her fellow leading star Diego Boneta, who plays assistant barman Drew Boley, who dreams of being a rock star.
The pair, who have grown so close they even holiday together, looked at ease as they posed arm-in-arm for photographers.
Catherine Zeta Jones struck a blow for more mature women everywhere by wearing a stunning skin tight sheer dress.
The 42-year-old Darling Buds of May
star, who plays the movie's main villain, seemed to be having a ball as
she flaunted her curves.
It seems the story, which follows the fate of closure-threatened Sunset Strip waterhole The Bourbon Room, was too irresistible for Hollywood stars to resist.
For a host of other big names were also there, including Jennifer Aniston's beau Justin Theroux, who wrote the script, camp comic Russell Brand, who plays the club's manager, and Julianne's dancer brother Derek Hough.
Josh Duhamel came out of the glam closet after he turned up in fancy dress with wife Fergie, while High School Musical star Zac Efron and Swedish Canadian actress Malin Akerman were also there.
But a premiere celebrating the hair metal era would not be complete without a member of the genre's royalty, and Bret Michaels, who fronted arguable the style's most dubious outfit Poison, lapped up the chance at experiencing what it is like to be a star again.
